Prior to this, Cardi took to her Instagram feed to say that there would be a YouTube premiere for the video as well. On the first listen of “Up” and its video, fans took to social media to express how satisfied they were with both the single and visuals to it.
‘Up’ Met Expectations To Listeners
Cardi‘s fan base on Twitter discussed how well the video for Up was put together, from her outfits to the dancers that were included. Many also believe that Cardi brought the energy to this single as usual. If fans could use one word to describe Up and the video overall, you will see plenty of of fire emojis as they believe she brought the heat once again to a highly anticipated record.
The Release Of ‘Up’ Hints At Cardi’s New Album Coming
With the love that “Up” continues to receive on social media right now, the discussion is also on regarding when Cardi will finally release her sophomore album.
In December, Cardi took to Twitter to reveal that she was thinking about flying some fans out in February to listen to the album. This gave off the idea that it was completed but Cardi never publicly confirmed this. As far as the update on flying fans out for a listening session, that is also still to be announced.
‘Up’ Could Be Cardi’s Second Consecutive No. 1 Single
The immediate success of Up right now also sets itself for a very solid first week in terms of sales. A lot of Cardi fans believe that this single could debut at No, 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart next week.
If so, this would be her second straight No. 1 single, as the previous one was “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion in August. Currently, WAP is at 3x platinum status in the US and Up has the potential to give Cardi another plaque as well.
Cardi B Isn’t Worried About 2021 Grammy Nominations
Many were surprised when Cardi did not submit “WAP” for 2021 Grammy considerations this year after the massive success it had. This was due to Cardi explaining on Instagram Live how she was focusing on the rollout for her forthcoming album. Her fans wanted to see her score more Grammy wins but in the end, it’s all good for Cardi as she looks like she will take home plenty of them in 2022. Back in 2019, she won the award for Best Rap Album for “Invasion Of Privacy.”
