Chrissy Teigen is currently trending on Twitter after sharing a story about a waiter who conned her and her husband, John Legend, into buying a $13,000 bottle of wine — and is now being lit up for being tone-deaf during the pandemic!
The supermodel lashed back at haters who flooded Twitter calling Teigen out for the unrelatable story, and her response is priceless.
The trending story started simple enough, with a message from the model, saying, “What’s the most expensive thing you’ve eaten that you thought sucked?” You have to see what happened next!

Chrissy decided to share a story with her followers, tweeting, “One time john and I were at a restaurant and the waiter recommended a nice Cabernet. We got the bill and it was 13,000 dollars. HOW DO U CASUALLY RECOMMEND THAT WINE. we didn’t even finish it and it had been cleared!!!”
Good story. Except, a ton of trolls hammered the cookbook author for being tone-deaf with the story. Immediately, fans responded with things like, “Did you recover? Meanwhile, people are out here drowning in debt, losing their homes, and can’t afford to see a doctor.”
“This is how you know money isn’t real & capitalism is straight garbage. Y’all can accidentally buy a $13,000 bottle of wine but most Americans can’t afford a $300 emergency,” another added.
One straight put it like this, “People are not going to relate to this.”

“Hey, not everything I say on my Twitter is going to be relatable to you because it is my life and my Twitter and my stories. I see your tweets, I get your jokes, you are so funny, yes, you really nailed me,” Chrissy tweeted following the onslaught of hate messages.
Adding, “me: sharing story of getting screwed over by a waiter. shares story of rough week, baby would have been born. feeling anxious, sad. — you: let’s fucking own this rich bitch for retweets.”
It didn’t end there…
“Honestly, I will be that person for you. it is fun to gang up on me. I see the convos that bring you together in your owning of me. I make it easy. have fun,” Chrissy continued.
During the back-and-forth, Chrissy revealed she was already getting heat online for posting about riding her horses. “Still getting owned about riding a horse because not everyone has a horse so at least I gave you something new to have an outlet for your anger. you are welcome,” she tweeted.
The worst part of it all — according to Chrissy the wine wasn’t even that good! After a fan enquired about how good a $13,000 bottle of wine is, she responded, “No but it wasn’t special at all??? It could have been Josh..which I liked (when I drank!!) 12 dollars a bottle!”
