'Victoria Secret' Model Chanel Iman's Husband Secretly Files For Divorce, 8 Months Ago!

'Victoria Secret' model Chanel Iman's famous husband, NFL star Sterling Shepard, secretly filed for divorce almost eight months ago.

According to multiple reports, the New York Giants wide receiver filed legal documents to end the couple's marriage on June 7, 2021.  It's interesting, considering most people believed the couple was still together until they addressed the break-up this week. At this point, it's unclear what caused the couple's split, but they are clearly down the road on their legal divorce case.

The former couple shares two children together and separated less than two years after they welcomed their second child. "They are going to try and remain civil and friendly towards each other," a source told US Weekly. 

The situation is interesting, considering neither party publically acknowledged the ongoing divorce and hasn't issued any formal statement about their break-up.

The couple first met at former teammate Victor Cruz's 30th birthday party back in 2016, and the football star opened up about meeting the model in a subsequent interview. "When I was younger, I’d see her in the Victoria’s Secret magazines that my sisters were getting, but it didn’t really come to me. When she walked into the room one of my boys was like, ‘You know who that is?’ and I was like, ‘No,’” he told Haute Living.

He continued, "I approached her and asked her if she wanted a drink, and we were just talking for the rest of the party, and then we went to some club for the afterparty and kept talking. I got her number, and we went our own separate ways, but we stayed in contact," adding, "It was kind of crazy. And now that’s my lady."

Following the marriage in 2018, the Victoria's Secret Angel announced she was expecting her first child and welcomed baby "Cali" that August. The former couple welcomed their second daughter, Cassie, in December of 2019.

The NFL star recently opened up about having a family of four, and the transition in the famous couple's lives. "It’s honestly tough whenever you put a baby into the situation because you’ve got to still try to find time for each other and a lot of the focus goes onto the baby," he said at the time.

Adding, "So that’s the main thing is just me trying to carve out a little time in my schedule and her trying to carve out time in her schedule because we’re both pretty busy. That’s the toughest thing about it, but we find a way to get through it."

It should be noted, fans started getting a clue of a possible split after the former couple scrubbed each other from social media. Of course, they both continued posting their children, but not each other. At this point, the couple will need to settle their ongoing divorce, but they have a pretty good head start. Also, it's unclear if the couple had a prenuptial agreement -- but, considering they were both rich and famous before getting married -- we are guessing they have something in place.
