Gal Gadot can't wait to get started on "Cleopatra."

The film was originally supposed to be directed by Patty Jenkins.

Jenkins and Gadot have worked together on the past two "Wonder Woman" films.

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" director Karl Skogland will now direct.

Jenkins will stay close to the project as a producer.

Gadot said the film will be "telling the story the world needs to hear now."

She praised Cleopatra as "sexy and appealing."

She also called her "strategic and smart."

She said she wants to explore the impact Cleopatra had and still has on the world today.
