Artistic gymnast MyKayla Skinner is defying gravity in skin-tight spandex from a parking lot. The 24-year-old member of the 2016 Olympic alternate and Team USA face updated her Instagram just in time for the weekend with some major back-flipping action today, whacking her flexible body into overdrive and stunning her 179,000 followers. MyKayla, fresh from revealing that she's been battling COVID, showed a pretty fighting spirit for someone with coronavirus, with the photo coming with a witty caption to boot. Check it out below.

Scroll for the photo. It comes as MyKayla makes headlines for recovering from COVID and in time for her bid in a spot on the U.S. Olympics team for summer 2021. Skinner, who won the 2018 NCAA title in the vault but quit the University of Utah to train for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, posted from a raised parking lot location, void of cars and seemingly perfect for flipping.

Wearing tight leggings and a backless matching top, the blonde was seen mid-air and on her way backwards, but not, like the rest of us, falling flat on her butt.

MyKayla, snapped from behind and heading into a somersault, kept her legs high above the ground and showed off a wild hair flip while entering her move, writing: "Feels flippin great to be flipping again?."

Bear in mind this comes from someone who just this week stated: “For two weeks I felt like I couldn’t move off the couch" as she spoke of her COVID battle: "I was sick, tired and exhausted. It was so weird having my body feel so weak, and there was nothing I could do about it. It’s been six weeks. And I think my body needs at least two more to get to full strength.”

Skinner continued: "There’s supposed to be some international competitions in the next couple of months that I can hopefully do. But it’s all just a mess; things are up in the air. So we will see if that comes together.”

To top it all off, a January 14 post from the gymnast appeared to mention pneumonia, with the outdoor camo shot seeing her write: "Feelin good today cause I am clear of pneumonia and good to go back to practice next week!!!?."

MyKayla isn't the only gymnast making headlines during the global pandemic. 23-year-old Simone Biles has fronted media outlets for her jaw-dropping and pants-losing Handstand Challenge, also admitting that she "cried" when she learned the 2020 Tokyo Olympics had been postponed.

Simone does follow MyKayla. Likewise keeping tabs on her are 26-year-old Aly Raisman and 2008 all-around champion, 31-year-old Nastia Liukin. MyKayla, who boasts four world medals, is also working to help end human trafficking.

If you spotted Simone Biles' name, scroll for her massive bikini thigh gap!
