Meredith Marks opened up about her marital strife with husband Seth Marks during the debut season of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.” But where does the couple stand today?
During a January 24 interview with Hollywood Life, Meredith, who owns a boutique in Utah, confirmed that she and Seth are currently married before crediting the Bravo reality series for keeping them together.
“I think I’m the only human being who can say ‘Real Housewives’ coupled with COVID saved my marriage,” Meredith admitted. “And that is 100 percent true.”
COVID-19 Forced Meredith Marks And Seth Marks To Spend Time Together
Following 25 years of marriage, Meredith and Seth endured a brief separation from one another as he began traveling for work, and she began spending more time with friends. Then, on December 31 of last year, Meredith confirmed that she and Seth had decided to stay together and give their marriage another try.
“We really worked hard,” Meredith stated. “We were communicating and that was huge. It was everything and then with COVID, we were forced to really spend a lot of time together which we have not done in many years.”
‘RHOSLC’ Allowed Meredith Marks To See Her Marriage From The Outside
“That was really positive. We were fortunate. It could’ve gone the other way. I think for a lot of people, it does,” she continued.
According to Meredith, being on the show helped her in her marriage to Seth because it allowed her to see herself from an outside point of view.
“I find a lot of times I can be a little bit curt and I found things get misunderstood and misinterpreted,” she said. “This is more that I may be snappy at times, but it makes you fully analyze how you interact with people, so that for us was actually, believe it or not, a huge healing process because we had no communication.”
Meredith Marks Shielded Her Kids From Her Marriage Issues
While Meredith and Seth share their children, Reid, Chloe and Brooks, the couple kept their marriage drama away from their family and didn’t allow them to know they had taken a break from their marriage.
“We had been separated on and off for a really long time, hiding it from our children, hiding it from everyone except each other because our children didn’t know and that put us in a corner where we just didn’t address anything, so we had no communication basically other than transactional stuff like college tuitions due, whatever, nonsense,” Meredith recalled.
‘RHOSLC’ Was ‘Glam Therapy’ For Meredith Marks
Looking back at her experience on “RHOSLC,” Meredith admitted that appearing on the series was like therapy for her and Seth.
“We worked with our own therapist and ‘Housewives,’ I call it glam therapy,” Meredith added. “It’s not real therapy because everybody’s hearing it, but if you embrace the process, it is very therapeutic. It really is. Assuming I return, yes of course you will see a lot of mine and Seth’s dynamic. It’s my husband. It’s a huge part of my life.”
To see more of Meredith, Seth, and their family, don’t miss new episodes of the first season of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” which are currently airing on Wednesday nights at 10/9c on Bravo.
