JoJo Siwa is the happiest that she has ever been!
The 17-year-old "Dance Moms" alum spoke candidly about the intense reaction to her coming out on January 23. She shared a lengthy video where she took time to thank the fans for all the support as well as give them more details about her decision to come out. Siwa also revealed that some family members knew before she went public earlier this week.

The pop star noted that her job has always made her happy but her new-found openness took things to a new level. "It's been the best 48 hours!" she exclaimed.
"What matters is that you guys know that no matter who you love that it's okay!" she said on IG live. "I think coming out has this stigma around it, that it's a really, really, really scary thing but it's not anymore!"
At one point in her video, she said that her face was going to start hurting from constantly smiling.

She described her dad's reaction to the news by saying, "Hey man, love is universal!" However, she did admit that it wasn't too hard for her mother to figure out that she is gay.
"My mom said that she had known for the past two years," JoJo said. "She's like, 'I just know with you.' About two years ago she was like, 'Yeah, I don't think that you only like boys and that's totally okay.'"
She also said her brother simply said, "Sick! Proud of you!" It's cool to see such a loving and supportive family!
Siwa broke the news to her fans in a very interesting way. She first shared a TikTok video where she danced to the LGBTQ anthem, "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. The next morning she shared a picture of a shirt that made her message crystal clear. She posted a picture of herself wearing a shirt that read, "BEST. GAY. COUSIN. EVER." It was a gift from her cousin, naturally.
"My cousin got me a new shirt," JoJo tweeted. "Thanks for the shirt cousin."
The young star's announcement generated tons of love from her celebrity friends. Many of them wished her well and kept repeating that this is the happiest that they have ever seen her. Lil Nas X quickly commented, "if u spell 'swag' backwards, it’s 'gay'. coincidence??" while Colleen Ballinger, AKA Miranda Sings, sent a kind message that JoJo appreciated.
"I've known you a long time and this is the happiest I've ever seen you," Ballinger wrote via Twitter. "You're absolutely glowing and I'm so proud of the woman you are becoming! love yoooou!"
Bella Thorne also made a special IG story post congratulating JoJo. "Congrats little queen," Thorne said.
