This month, Drake was expected to release his sixth studio album, "Certified Lover Boy."

This project was originally revealed back in August 2020 after releasing his "Laugh Now Cry Later" single feat Lil Durk. It was also announced by Drake on his birthday on October 24 that CLB would be released in January 2021.

With 20 days into the month now, there was a lot of skepticism as to if he would actually release the album. Now, Drake has some bad news regarding the release date.

CLB will not be out in January as planned. Drake took to his Instagram story to announce that the release of the album will be delayed and this is due to him recovering from his knee surgery a few months ago.

I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery," said Drake on IG. "I'm blessed to be back on my feet and feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won't be dropping in January."

Drake's fans weren't too happy to hear that CLB won't be arriving this month as the anticipation has been high for months. Many believed that this project is set to arguably be the biggest album of 2020 so this sudden news definitely came as a surprise to them after all of the hype online. Now, the biggest question is when Drake will finally be ready to put this project out.

Back on April 30, Drake was getting ready to put his "Dark Lane Demo Tapes" mixtape. There, he also announced that his sixth studio album would be arriving in the summer. That did not happen but the DLDT mixtape provided plenty of hits to make up for no album in 2020. They included the chart-topping single, "Toosie Slide," "Chicago Freestyle" feat. Giveon, "Pain 19943" feat. Playboi Carti, and "When To Say When." "Laugh Now Cry Later" then continued the momentum in August.

Regarding Drake's knee injury, he suffered this back in October of last year and then, that needed surgery. He was soon seen in a brace. It's still unknown when this incident occurred or how it happened.

Many believed that Drake would be much better by now in time to release the CLB album but that did not end up being the case. Hopefully, the delay for this project won't be long as fans worldwide are anxiously waiting to hear how it sounds after months of the build-up.
