Current champion “Jeopardy!” Amy Schneider just got robbed in the very literal sense.

Schneider posted a statement on Twitter saying that the robbery took place on Sunday, January 2, 2022. She did let her fans know that she was okay, but she did not disclose too much information about the incident.

“Hi all!” she began. “So, first off: I'm fine. But I got robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards, and phone. I then couldn't really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything.”

She continued, “So, I doubt I'll even start writing tonight's game thread today, and if I keep winning, it may take a bit for me to get caught up. Thanks for your patience!”

Amy has been documenting each game and providing behind-the-scenes snippets for her fans on Twitter as they follow along with her groundbreaking win streak. On Monday, January 3, Amy continued her impressive run after winning $42,000 to bring her 24-day total up to $897,600.

Amy is only a few games shy of beating previous “Jeopardy!” contestant James Holzhauer, who set a 32 consecutive game win streak back in 2019.

“Glad you are doing ok, but hate that it happened to you,” another wrote. “Please don’t worry about posting until you have time to take care of yourself.”

“So sorry, Amy,” another shared. “What a nightmare, yet you continue to be so totally composed, such a class act, and always with a bit of good natured humor. You keep my husband and me riveted watching you every night and cheering. May you continue your streak and match Jennings’s #1 spot!”

“Wtf! Did they think you carried your $800k in Jeopardy winnings on you?” another asked. “So sorry you're dealing with this. Hoping a bath bomb can soothe your nerves.”

In an earlier episode, host Ken Jennings asked Amy what she planned to do with her winnings. Amy revealed that both she and her partner absolutely loved taking long baths, but they only had one small bathtub at home.

Amy hasn’t revealed whether or not she ever did buy a big house with two baths with her winnings, but fans can’t wait to find out!
