Teyana Taylor Claps Back After Being Accused Of Stealing Fashion Design

Teyana Tayloris known as one of the best R&B artists today along with a very good director of music videos. One of her huge 2020 business endeavors was being named as the Creative Director for popular women's fashion line, Pretty Little Thing, which is based in England. 

"I am proud to announce that I have officially been named CREATIVE DIRECTOR of @prettylittlething," said Taylor on Instagram last month for her birthday. We're going to be collaborating on some amazing projects together and i cannot wait to get started! What a way to bring some positive vibes & more #blackgirlmagic into 2021!"

Over the weekend, Taylor was accused of someone on Twitter of stealing a woman's design made for an outfit. This resembled an item similar on PLT's website. @_cestchris asked Taylor "How are you the Creative Director of PLT and you stealing from other Black people?" Taylor put this user in check and explained that she barely started her new position.

"First off how are u going to ASSUME I have anything to do with this? My position barley started! I JUST announced my new title only a month ago, I have not even officially started my CD role as of yet. So check ya self & most IMPORTANTLY ya tone before u come at me loud & wrong."

Last month, Taylor also shocked the music industry after revealing on social media that she would be retiring from music. She cited how she feels underappreciated as an artist.

"The majority of what that post was to warn my label who I’ve been signed to for almost 10 years. Everything that you guys see of me, everything that I put out, everything that I do is 100% me. There’s no gun to anybody’s head to do anything that they don’t want to do. So yes, I am going to feel under appreciated if I’m putting in 110% and my label is giving me -- they’re reciprocating, what, 10% of that."

Taylor felt that she was underappreciated, but she also had a lot of success with her third studio album, "The Album," which was released in June on Juneteenth. This project was led by singles such as "Wake Up Love" featuring her husband and former NBA star, Iman Shumpert, and "We Got Love" feat. Lauryn Hill. The tracklist was separated into different "studios." The Album had a very solid first week debut as it reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. 

In September, Taylor gave birth to her and Shumpert's second child as well. Just like for her first child, Iman Taylor, this baby girl was birthed in her bathroom at home again. This child's name is Rue Rose. Shumpert was very excited that the birth was able to be successful in this situation again.

"At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose ? decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!! Now...when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy... but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital!"
