Jamie Lynn Spears is backtracking on how many cats she’s sent to an early grave thanks to her Tesla and is now saying she has never killed any of her family pets. The younger sister of superstar Britney Spears took to Instagram early Saturday morning after making headlines the day before for a now-deleted social media video that called out Tesla chief Elon Musk for creating vehicles that are so sleek and silent that they don’t give kitty cats enough warning to avoid being squished in the driveway.
While showing a screenshot from an article that highlighted Jamie Lynn Spears’ alleged cat-killing declaration, the “Zoey 101” star tried to set the record straight with a series of posts on her Instagram Stories.
“Not that it matters, but this is a bit misleading sooo just to clarify…” Jamie Lynn began her message to fans.
“1.) I did not run over any cats.”
“2.) TESLA is not to be blamed, and was never intended to be.”
“3.) User error is admittedly involved.”
“4.) We always check for animals before moving a vehicle.”
As for her final point, Jamie Lynn explained, “I was only making a suggestion about something I think would be extremely helpful, and the geniuses at [TESLA] are the best to go to for said issue.”
The drama kicked off the day before when a now-deleted video began circulating of the Nickelodeon star sounding off about the alleged squished cats.
“I know there’s much bigger things going on in the world right now, but somebody’s gotta let Elon Musk know that the Tesla is a secret cat killer and it’s a problem that we really got to fix,” Jamie Lynn said in the video.
She also added, “We have now lost–I don’t even want to tell you how many cats.”
Although Jamie Lynn Spears is now saying that no cats in her household have been harmed by a Tesla, there have definitely been some deaths as the actress recently revealed that her daughter Ivey’s cat had died.
On a recent social media post, Britney Spears’ sister explained that her 2-year-old daughter, Ivey’s, cat was the latest to suffer an unfortunate accident.
“Turkey, your little kitty cat, went where?” Jamie Lynn was seen asking her daughter in a separate video on Instagram.
“Turkey’s with Jesus,” the young child answered.
