Aside from being a world-famous, award-winning, constantly traveling (pre-pandemic) star, Dua Lipa has found a home in getting in touch with her roots at the Hadid family farm, thanks to her boyfriend, Anwar.
For more than a year, Hadid and Lipa have been dating, and given that the majority of their relationship has transpired while under quarantine due to COVID-19 restrictions, the couple spent plenty of quality time together at the Pennsylvania farm.
For her new cover interview with Rolling Stone, the mega star got candid about quarantining with the Hadids and described what a day in her life on the farm was like.
Life On The Farm
Days at the farm are a far departure from the normal glamorous life you’d associate with a chart-topping artist, but Lipa felt endeared to it all through her experiences on the property.
“Wake up around 9:00, 9:30, shower, get dressed, have a bit of breakfast,” she recalled to the publication during the candid interview about her personal life. “Take the dog out on a really nice long walk, maybe do some yoga, make some lunch, hang out, watch a movie, play with the animals.”
The magazine also reported that Lipa bought the family two pymgy goats, named Funky and Bam-Bam, which are very cuddly little creatures.
“You can take them inside,” Lipa said of how well-behaved the farm animals are with the Hadids. “They love a cuddle.”
Although the pair have been notoriously quiet about the innermost workings of their relationship, save for cute Instagram snapshots, Lipa admits she is “very comfortable in the relationship, more so than any others” that she has been involved in.
How Her Music Has Changed
“When I was creating the first album, a lot of what was going on in my life was about heartbreak,” she went on to recall during the interview.
“This time around, I was feeling so happy and things were going so well, I was like, ‘OK, I need to be able to portray this feeling in a way that doesn’t feel cheesy to me.’ I don’t know why I thought that when you’re a pop artist and you make a happy song, then all of a sudden it’s just not cool. I kind of just had to let that go.”
The Power Of Beauty
When she was asked if her believes that her sheer beauty had anything to do with her success, Lipa candidly responded with, “I’ve never really seen being pretty or beautiful as some kind of power. It’s never been something that I identify with…I feel like I was a little bit shortchanged in a way [by the question], because I don’t feel like I’ve gotten to where I am because of that.”
“I’m extremely hardworking and driven, and I feel like that’s the reason why I got to where I am, through my hard work and my drive, and I just wanted to make that clear because it has been playing on my mind,” she concluded by saying.
