On Wednesday, Donald Trump was impeached for the second time as president by the House of Representatives. The last time this took place against him was back in December 2019. He was surprisingly acquitted by a Republican-dominated Senate in February 2020, though.
Now, the interesting question if this will be the case this time as well. Trump‘s last day in office will be January 19, with President-Elect Joe Biden being inaugurated the next day. Biden ended up winning the presidential election comfortably in November.
Cardi B Reacts Happily To Trump’s Second Impeachment
Trump being impeached by the House again is a step towards progress after he incited violence at the Capitol building last week to his supporters as they wanted to prevent Biden’s electoral votes from being certified.
Celebrities are now reacting to this House impeachment and one of them is Cardi B, who has been vocally against Trump for years. She posted a clip of to Twitter of herself during an interview with Vogue in 2019. Here, she was asked who her least favorite president was. Cardi’s answer was “The one that’s going to get impeached. The third one that’s going to get impeached.” In the tweet, she said “I been told yaaa.”
Cardi Is Hopeful For Prison Time For Trump
Last week, Cardi also took to her Twitter feed to express her desire to see Trump go to prison immediately. She wasn’t for Trump getting impeached first due to him possibly being somewhere comfortably by then.
If the Senate convicts Trump after Biden‘s inauguration though, he will not be able to run for office again, which includes a possible second presidential run in 2024. Democrats will have control of the Senate on Biden’s inauguration day as Georgia’s Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock won their runoff elections on January 5.
Trump Still Doesn’t Take Responsibility For Inciting Capitol Riots
Trump has been advocating for no violence lately but didn’t acknowledge his role in the riots and storming of the Capitol building last week. These domestic terrorists were his supporters as they wore apparel of his such as hoodies and MAGA hats.
As this scary incident was happening, Trump was hesitant to call the National Guard and watched the madness unfold on his TV. Since then, arrests have been made all over the country of the people who were involved in breaking into the building.
Cardi Has Been Actively Involved In Politics Over The Last Year
In addition to Cardi‘s just criticism of Trump, she has made it known that she is fully engaged into politics. Last year, she seen interviewed then-presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, and then, Joe Biden. They all discussed topics such as COVID-19, racism, police brutality, and more.
Cardi supporting Biden and Sanders were definitely effective moves in getting younger people to go out and move Trump out. In the end, there were a record turnout of voters in November compared to 2016 when Trump won.
