Kameron Westcott is offering an update on her “Real Housewives of Dallas” cast mate D’Andra Simmons‘ health.
During an interview with the Digital Spy on January 12, Kameron said that in the weeks since D’Andra was hospitalized with COVID-19 at the UT Southwestern Hospital in Texas in late December, she’s been able to recover nicely.
“She’s doing great,” Kameron revealed to the outlet, noting that she had recently spoken to D’Andra. “She’s hanging in there. She recently had foot surgery, so she was dealing with that, and then she got COVID.”

D’Andra’s rep confirmed her COVID-19 diagnosis in December after part-time “Real Housewives of Dallas” cast member Jennifer Davis Long requested prayers for her on her Instagram Stories and claimed she was in the ICU.
“It was like one thing after another,” Kameron explained. “But, she’s hanging in there. She’s doing good right now. I’m so happy that she’s recovering well. She said it was a rough week [when she was diagnosed]. It was a really rough week for her. She’s like, ‘Really, stay safe and healthy’.”
‘RHOD’ Season Five Was Filmed Amid The Pandemic
In addition to D’Andra’s COVID-19 diagnosis, the “Real Housewives of Dallas” cast was recently hit with production challenges caused by the coronavirus.
Continuing on to the Digital Spy, Kameron said that because the pandemic was so unprecedented, she and her cast mates and crew were forced to adjust to the many restrictions put into place in their town.
“It was extremely different,” Kameron admitted. “It’s something I will never forget.”
During season five, Kameron and her cast mates were forced to film themselves at times.
‘RHOD’ Season Five Will Include Plenty Of Personal Stories
“We did a lot of in-home shooting, a lot of personal stories. We all were in our homes more [separately]. We really couldn’t do anything outside of our homes, besides things outside,” she revealed.
As for what fans can expect to see during “The Real Housewives of Dallas,” Kameron said that because she and her cast mates were so limited as to what they could film, they were forced to dig deep within themselves to create something fun for viewers to watch.
