Amid the 15th season of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” Emily said that she’s been doing her best to slim down for the past year, even though she hit a bit of a road bump with her efforts in 2020 amid the coronavirus quarantine.
“It’s a little bit of everything and it’s actually been a journey,” Emily explained to hosts Lauren Herbert and Emily Orozco.
Emily Simpson Experienced Weight Gain Amid The Pandemic
“I worked with a trainer who I reached out to about a year ago, her name is Paulina, and then I lost weight. And then in quarantine, I gained weight and ended up being heavier than I was before,” Emily admitted of her weight loss struggles.
Although Emily went back up on the scale last year as she remained in quarantine at home with her family, she ultimately got back on track after both she and her husband, Shane Simpson, contracted COVID-19.
Emily Simpson Was A ‘Beast’ After Her Battle With COVID-19
“After Shane and I had COVID, I really got in this mindset of ‘I have to be healthy and get in shape,’” she revealed. “I was just a beast after I recovered from COVID and lost weight again and worked out and ate healthy. It’s been a journey. Up and down, up and down but we’re going to stay down because this is how I feel comfortable.”
As for how much weight she’s lost, Emily said that she doesn’t actually track her weight.

“I know I’ve lost weight because my close fit,” Emily said when asked about how much weight she’s lost since her battle with the coronavirus.
“I look differently but the only thing I really try to keep track of is body fat percentage because to me, that means more,” she continued.
According to Emily, she doesn’t like to get on a scale because, at 5’9,” she feels that she always weighs “a lot.”
“I’m 5’9,” I’m curvy, [and] I’m big-boned,” the mother of three explained.

“I always weigh a lot so I like to go by body fat percentage and I think I’ve lost, like 11 percent, which makes a huge difference. People are like, ‘Oh, you got surgery on your face.’ I’m like, ‘No, I just lost a little,’” Emily shared, claiming she used to look like a “Cabbage Patch” kid.
