Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin needs your Netflix suggestions, and she’s asking in a leather minidress. The 31-year-old gymnast and 2008 all-around Olympic champion made her Sunday Instagram update both leggy and fun, posting with glamorous fashionista photos as she admitted she isn’t like this now – Nastia told her 1 million followers she’s actually on the couch and enjoying a cozy fire, but she can’t decide what to watch. If you like flexible gymnast, it’s probably for you. If you’re also stuck for TV recs, same deal. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photos. They come as Nastia makes headlines for picture-perfect travels to her Montana cabin over the holidays, but the Russian-born star is now back in her Dallas, TX base.
Nastia opened her post posing sun-drenched and outdoors while showing off the top half of an unusual, super-stylish cream minidress worn with a tight printed top underneath. The look was eventually revealed to be a very leggy one, with Nastia rocking knee-high cowboy boots as she struck a pose by concrete.
Nastia, who doesn’t do her updates by half and nearly always includes a caption that really ups the engagement, did the latter today – if anything gets Instagram going, it’s Netflix. Taking to her caption, the five-time Olympic medalist wrote:
“Currently: not looking like this while sitting on the couch by the fireplace watching the snow fall outside. netflix suggestions?? ??????”
Yup, complete with hand emoji pointing downwards to the comments section. Nastia may have retired back in 2012, but there’s a reason she’s still a headline-maker.
Nastia’s fans, who were nasty back in October 2020 as she faced an anorexia storm, were in with the positive vibe today. And they were definitely up for recommendations.
“Madam secretary!! also nikita, criminal minds, and a movie called the old guard!” one replied. “The fundamentals of caring, Living with yourself, Locke & Key,” was another suggestion, with “Bridgerton” also offered alongside shows that aren’t even Netflix. Kaley Cuoco’s “The Flight Attendant” is getting suggested, although it’s HBO Max. Scroll for the flexibility!
Nastia was just 22 when she retired from professional gymnastics, admitting in 2016 that quitting the beam early was tough. In fact, Liukin struggled to find her feet, telling The Cut:
“I felt so lost for a good year. I gained probably 10 to 20 pounds, because when you stop doing something and just go cold turkey your body doesn’t even know what to do.”
Now, it’s Pilates, power boxing, and Nastia literally crossing a gym floor on her hands in skimpy spandex. Scroll for it!
