“Real Housewives of Atlanta” Cynthia Bailey was forced to defend her daughter Noelle Robinson after talk show host Wendy Williams suggested that the 21-year-old came out to have a storyline.
Williams suggested that Bailey needed a storyline that didn’t revolve around her being a “happy married lady”. Robinson’s sexuality was a part of her mom’s storyline back in 2019 where the model shared that she identifies as “sexually fluid”.
The mama bear came out in Bailey who refused to let the gossipy talk show host make light of her daughter’s life.
Noelle Doesn’t Have To Share Anything
“Noelle is not a Housewife…she does not actually have to share her life with you guys,” clarified Bailey when she called into the “Wendy Williams Show” this week.
The Bravolebrity later went on to get a few more things off of her chest. “Let me just say this, this is really important. The reason I really wanted Noelle to tell her story on the show is because as a reality star family at this point, if we don’t talk about it on the show and people find out about it, they almost feel like we’re hiding it.”
Bravo Celebs Are Always Under The Microscope
The former model is not wrong, many of the Bravo reality TV stars have been criticized for less. She continued to clarify that she more so did this for her daughter, “I didn’t want Noelle to feel ashamed and embarrassed or have to hide her truth.”
The reality star even went as far as to say she was concerned that someone would find out before she had the chance to tell her own story. She certainly didn’t want photos snapped of her daughter hand in hand with another girl splashed all over The Shade Room.
Noelle Is Being Authentic
“I wanted her to tell her own story,” Bailey said. “It wasn’t for my storyline. It was because she needed to get in front.”
Being in the spotlight for some time now with almost ten of those years being on a reality TV show, Bailey knows the importance of making sure to tell the story that is your own truth.
“People try to box everyone in and put labels on everything, but I don’t really do that. That’s just what it is,” said Robinson to her mom on the November 19 episode of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” as she came out to the world.
