Donald Trump has rightfully been receiving backlash since Wednesday after his supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. This was to prevent the electoral votes for Joe Biden officially being named president from being certified.
These domestic terrorists broke into the building as many politicians had to be escorted out for their safety. Damage was done to the building and sadly, police used no force on these people at all unlike what was done to Black Lives Matter protestors last summer.
Trump May Pardon Lil Wayne And Kodak Black Before He Leaves Office
There are now less than two weeks until Trump is finally out of office and Biden is inaugurated. Trump has been entertaining the idea of pardoning himself of his crimes as president and has a few others he wants to look out for as well.
According to Bloomberg.com, huge names that Trump may be pardoning are Kodak Black and Lil Wayne. Not surprisingly, both of these rappers endorsed Trump shortly before the 2020 presidential election arrived. This could happen on his last day in office on January 19.
Kodak Black Is Serving 46 Months In Prison
Back in May 2019, Kodak was arrested at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. This was due to feds finding out that the Florida rapper falsified information on gun applications. Weapons at multiple crime scenes were linked to him as well.
In November of that year, he was finally given a sentence which was 46 months in prison. As of now, Kodak is expected to be freed in August 2022. This past November, he put out his first album since getting incarcerated, which was “Bill Israel.”
Lil Yachty And Lamar Jackson Have Advocated For Kodak’s Sentence To Be Commuted By Trump
Kodak has plenty of backing in being released sooner than his scheduled release date. Lil Yachty and Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson both posted identical tweets this week asking Trump publicly to commute Kodak’s sentence.
“Hey @realDonaldTrump my friend @KodakBlack1k deserves to be commuted,” he began. “The system punished him way to hard for a paperwork crime #freekodak.”
Many are skeptical that Yachty and Jackson’s work could get the job done, but we will see come January 19. Prior to his sentence, Kodak was one of the hottest rappers out.
Wayne Faces 10 Years For Felony Firearm Case
Last month, Wayne plead guilty to illegally possessing a loaded firearm. This is regarding an incident where he was found with a gold-plated Remington 1911, .45-caliber handgun loaded on a private jet. This was located at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in December 2019. Cocaine, ecstasy, and oxycodone was also found.
Wayne was originally supposed to get sentenced this month but the new date is March 3. 10 years in prison are on the table. Back in 2009, he was also convicted of a felony gun charge.
