Over a year after the former “Real Housewives of Orange County” cast member called it quits with her marriage to Jim, who she claimed had been unfaithful, which he denied, Meghan spoke to Us Weekly magazine about her hopes for 2021.
“Getting divorced would be great,” Meghan said of what she hopes will take place in the next several months.
Meghan King Edmonds Looks Forward To Being Officially Single
“That’s such a morbid thing to think about [and] to look forward to, but it’s funny how things change,” Meghan continued.
Meghan and Jim had a whirlwind relationship, having wed in 2014 and welcomed three children in the years that followed, including their four-year-old daughter Aspen and their two-year-old twin sons Hayes and Hart.
Then, in 2019, Meghan accused Jim of a text message affair before claiming he had an inappropriate relationship with one of their nannies, who denied any such thing months later.
Meghan King Edmonds Is Going Through Ups And Downs As A Single Mom
Following a “really depressing” holiday season, which included her children visiting their father and his girlfriend of about one year, Kortnie O’Connor, Meghan admitted that she’s struggled with loneliness since splitting from Jim in October 2019, and from her former boyfriend Christian Schauf, months ago.
“I mean, I’m an adult who’s been driven by societal expectations for 36 years. It’s just hard to one day decided that that’s not what I’m going to do anymore… I’m single. I have a new house. I’m all by myself in it. On one hand, I’m proud and I feel incredibly empowered, and on the other hand, I’m lonely,” she shared.
Meghan King Edmonds Wants Someone To Share Her Life With
According to Meghan, she would love to have somebody at her side as she embarks not only on her new life at her new home in St. Louis, but also as she teams up with a nonprofit organization to help other women.
“I want somebody to share this life that I’ve built with me,” she admitted.
“I’m getting involved with a nonprofit that builds seamstress factories for women around the world. I’m particularly interested in an area in Africa. I’m going to make that one of my missions for 2021,” Meghan revealed.
Meghan King Edmonds Enjoys Helping Others
“I’m really excited about helping others, or helping others while helping myself too, which I think is a huge part of being a newly single woman,” Meghan added. “I feel empowered by helping others. Therefore, it helps propel me forward.”
Meghan appeared on three seasons of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” before leaving the series after season 12 to move to St. Louis and further expand her since-split family with then-partner Jim.
