Kodak Black has been incarcerated since May 2019 after getting arrested on federal firearms charges. Authorities found that the Florida rapper had falsified information on gun applications and found firearms linked to him at crime scenes.
In November 2019, Kodak was sentenced to 46 months in prison. As of now, he is expected to be freed in August 2022. Various celebrities have advocated for his release and now, the latest is Baltimore Ravens star quarterback, Lamar Jackson, who is also from Pompano Beach, FL.
Jackson Asks Donald Trump For Kodak’s Sentence To Be Commuted
“Hey @realDonaldTrump @potus my friend @KodakBlack1k deserves to be commuted. The system punished him way to hard for a paperwork crime #freekodak.”
Jackson and Kodak have shown each other love on social media for a while now and as many see now, Jackson’s loyalty to his friend hasn’t slowed down at all, even with his current circumstances.
Lil Yachty Sent Same Exact Tweet To Trump For Kodak As Well
Coincidentally, Lil Yachty also sent the same exact tweet to Trump that Jackson did in support of Kodak. Users on Twitter soon questioned if Yachty and Jackson tweeting Trump would actually work. Some feel that it would be best for them to ask Joe Biden to try to make this happen once he is sworn into office later this month. To this day, Trump hasn’t helped any rapper get released from prison even after getting endorsements from rappers like Kodak and Lil Wayne.
Jackson Was Bashed For Appearing To Endorse Trump In 2020
In April 2020, Trump surprisingly sent out a tweet supporting Jackson as he replied to a tweet of Jackson reacting to his college teammate, Jaire Alexander, being happy for Jackson getting drafted in 2018. Trump said how that was really nice to see and how Jackson was a great draft pick for the Ravens. Jackson then replied saying “Truzz Trump.” Many were surprised to see Jackson say this but he clarified that it was no endorsement.
“I wasn’t making no political statements or anything like that,” Jackson said. “I was just, like I said, just agreeing to what he was saying about me and my teammate. That’s all.
Kodak Endorsed Trump In October 2020
Surprisingly, Kodak endorsed Trump for president in October. He approved of the “platinum plan” that Trump had for Black Americans. His attorney had sent Kodak this to go over. Many soon disagreed that Kodak was making a mistake with this and doesn’t see how bad Trump is.
What do you think of the platinum plan? @bradfordcohen sent it to me and I read it, this is what the community needs…. more ownership. That plan is right! I want to help with justice reform when I am out as well. @realDonaldTrump #justicereform #prisonreform
