Chrissy Teigen decided to get fairly candid with fans about her journey to get clean through recent interactions on social media, sharing that she is actually “4 weeks sober” and has been making great progress keeping drinking at bay.
In the comments accompanying a steamy clip of her dancing in a bathing suit on vacation at St. Barts with husband John Legend, Teigen opened up about her sobriety journey over the last few weeks and what it all means to her.
The video, which showcased the tv personality dancing to the hit song “Singin’ In The Rain,” left fans going crazy under it, with one commenting, “I need whatever drugs you’re on.”
To the shock of many, Teigen replied to the user with a comment that she is actually “4 weeks sober,” followed by a string of heart and prayer emojis.
Upon sharing this fantastic news, she was met with rounds of congratulations from fans who took notice of the candid comment admission under the photo.
Taking to her Instagram story on Wednesday, Teigen shared the one book that she claims has been helping her figure out this unprecedented part of her life.
Holly Whitaker’s “Quit Like a Woman: The Radical Choice to Not Drink in a Culture Obsessed with Alcohol” is the star’s read of choice to navigate sobriety, and she was quick to praise the effectiveness the information contained within its pages had on instilling true and consistent positive change in her life as of late.
‘Sober Ever Since’
“One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,” the 35-year-old star shared with fans about the life-changing read. “I was done with making an *** of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like **** by 6, not being able to sleep.”
Teigen said that after reading the book, she has been “sober ever since,” and claims that the information contained inside is pivotal in beating any potential or serious addiction.
Telling Fans To Try
The star implored fans to give the book a read, saying that, “even if you can’t see yourself doing it or just plain don’t want to” due to the fact that it’s “an incredible read.”
After a brutal year, which saw plenty of challenges overall, but included the devastating loss of a child for Teigen and Legend, the former reflected on it all on November 27, saying that 2020 has been a “brutal, exhausting, sad, physically challenging, mentally painful (expletive) of a couple months.”
