"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Erika Jayne still hasn't said a word about the accusations she stole money from widows and orphans but her friends seem to be trying to leak a defense.
According to Us Weekly, a source close to Erika claims the reality star was unaware of her husband Thomas Girardi's alleged wrongful actions. The source said, "She’s still in disbelief that Tom would cheat. She’s also in disbelief with all these lawsuits that are coming that no one was aware of."
They added, "The legal issues are unfolding one after another and she’s learning as everyone’s filing. As the whole world is finding out about it, she’s finding out about it. She’s reading about it in the press before she even sees it [from her lawyers].”
Erika, who hasn't said a single word about the federal lawsuit filed against her, appears to be having her team place "source" stories in an effort to explain her place in all the mess. As The Blast previously reported, Erika and Thomas were hit with a class-action lawsuit by his former clients.
In the suit, the plaintiffs claim Thomas represented the families of plane crash victims. They won a settlement in the lawsuit they brought. However, once it came time to distribute the settlement funds they say Thomas failed to pay them out. The suit says Thomas diverted millions owed to his clients to help fund his lavish lifestyle with the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star.
In one suit, they note one creditor claims Thomas sent Erika $20 million dollars to her entertainment company.
Thomas and Erika have yet to file their response in court. At a recent hearing, Thomas was found in contempt of court for failing to explain where his client's money went. The judge referred the matter for possible criminal investigation.
Earlier this year, Erika filed for divorce from Thomas after 21 years of marriage. She is requesting spousal support. The two reportedly did not sign a prenupital agreement before getting hitched.
Thomas is fighting Erika's request for support and wants the court to terminate her right.
Amid all the drama, Erika decided to leak a bunch of sexts reportedly sent by a California judge to her husband during their marriage. She captioned the post, "This is Justice Tricia A. Bigelow. She was fucking my husband Tom Girardi and he was paying her Saks bill and paying for her plastic surgery."
Erika deleted the post after 30 minutes of being up. A lawyer for the judge said Erika's “actions in maliciously doxxing the Justice were nothing short of criminal. We are considering our options to protect Justice Bigelow from further harassment," The judge is reportedly considering legal action against Erika.
