The wildfires in Colorado have claimed over 500 homes, according to the Boulder County sheriff.

Fortunately, no dead or missing have yet been reported in the blaze that claimed over 1,600 acres.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis tweeted a view from a helicopter on Friday morning.

He said he was joined by emergency management experts to inspect the damage.

“This is a tragedy and the emergency is not over,” he added.

“We will work together to support Coloradans affected by this devastating fire,” he said.

On Thursday, Polis said that the fire spread “down a football field in a matter of seconds.”

Some residents reported that they lost “every material possession” in the blaze.

One resident said people evacuated like “antelope, running all over the place.”
