Pay Tribute to Betty White With Her Words Of Wisdom And Funniest Quotes

Actress Betty White passed away earlier today.

“The Golden Girls” actress was 99-years-old. She passed away only a few weeks shy of celebrating her 100th birthday on January 17, 2022. Although she appeared to pass away from natural causes, her sudden death was a shock to many celebrities and fans.

Costar RyanReynolds, Zachary Levi, and even President Joe Biden expressed their condolences for her tragic passing. Although many fans were left heartbroken, the late actress would want her fans to celebrate a life well-lived by remembering her favorite and funniest movements!

In the newest issue of People magazine, which included an in-depth look at White’s life ahead of her 100th birthday, White had some excellent words of wisdom for her fans, including, “You can lie to others – not that I would – but you cannot lie to yourself.”

White also revealed that her mother used to tell her, “The older you get, the better you get, unless you’re a banana.” Another quote her parents taught her is “If you do something wrong, you own up to it.”

“Animals don’t lie,” White added. “If animals have moody days, they handle them better than humans do.”

The website Scary Mommy also featured a fantastic list of White quotes, including, “People say, ‘But Betty, Facebook is a great way to connect with old friends.’ Well, at my age, if I want to connect with old friends I need a Ouija board.”

When talking about the secrets to old age, White revealed, “There’s no formula. Keep busy with your work and your life. You can’t become a professional mourner. It doesn’t help you or others. Replay the good times. Be grateful for the years you had.”

She also dished on her crush on Robert Redford, saying, “I’ve always liked older men. They’re just more attractive to me. Of course, at my age, there aren’t that many left!”

“Best thing about being in your 90s is you’re spoiled rotten,” White shared. “Everybody spoils you like mad and they treat you with such respect because you’re old. Little do they know, you haven’t changed. You haven’t changed [in the brain]. You’re just 90 every place else. Now that I’m 91, as opposed to being 90, I’m much wiser. I’m much more aware, and I’m much sexier.”

She also said: “Butterflies are like women — we may look pretty and delicate, but baby, we can fly through a hurricane.”

White, who was known for her sense of humor, also knew when to show restraint. “Well, I mean, if a joke or humor is bawdy, it’s got to be funny enough to warrant it,” she explained. “You can’t just have it bawdy or dirty just for the sake of being that — it’s got to be funny.”

Although many are calling her a legend today, White never seemed to understand what all the fuss was about. When asked how she felt about people calling her a legend, White replied, “I just laugh. Have I got them fooled.”
