Kim decided to get a little petty towards Hilaria who is dealing with accusations she faked a Spanish accent and heritage for over a decade. A bunch of clips of her speaking Spanish and pretending not to know English words have resurfaced and people have a ton of questions. In unearthed videos of Hilaria’s mother, she is seen speaking English perfectly, which caused more eyebrows to be raised.
Twitter had a bunch of questions for the woman originally born in Boston, Massachusetts. Hilaria has tried to explain multiple times and her husband even got involved by posting an odd video addressing the situation.
“Real Housewives” fans decided to repost a clip of Kim Richards on the show showing off her Spanish speaking abilities. She was able to hold half a conversation while messing up a couple of words. A couple of clever “RHOBH” fans created a hilarious meme with the clip.
The post made fun of Hilaria’s situation. Kim saw the post and left a bunch of laughing emojis under the meme.
Her sister Kyle also appeared to find it funny commenting with a bunch of laughing emojis herself. They are not the only ones finding Hilaria’s story incredibly outrageous, yet somehow the perfect ending to 2020.
Hilaria first tried to tackle the controversy head-on with an Instagram video. She said, “I’ve seen chatter online questioning my identity and culture. This is something I take very seriously, and for those who are asking— I’ll reiterate my story, as I’ve done many times before.”
Hilaria Baldwin added, “I was born in Boston and grew up spending time with my family between Massachusetts and Spain. My parents and sibling live in Spain and I chose to live here, in the USA. We celebrate both cultures in our home—Alec and I are raising our children bilingual, just as I was raised. This is very important to me. I understand that my story is a little different, but it is mine, and I’m very proud of it.”
In her video, Hilaria said her birth name was Hillary. She said, “I identify more with Hilaria because that’s what my family calls me.”
She continued “Yes I am a white girl. Let’s be very clear that Europe has a lot of white people there, and my family is white. Ethnically I’m a mix of many, many things; culturally, I grew up with the two cultures. It’s really as simple as that.”
Alec posted a quote reading, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on shoes.”
