Selma Blair is showing off her family photos from Christmas and admitting that although everyone tried their hardest to normalize the holiday and find moments of joy, it was tough without the usual traditions and bountiful family meetups that many are accustomed to during the holidays. The “Cruel Intentions” actress also revealed that she’s having a tough time dealing with the isolation factor that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused throughout 2020 … although she has her sights set on a more positive start to the new year.
“A quiet Christmas. We did not see our friends or family besides our tiny group,” Blair began her Christmas message to fans while showing some private family moments.
One of the photos showed the actress sitting in a chair and wearing a paper crown while a festive tree was seen in the background and a plate of pinecones in the foreground.
Although she’s smiling in the photo, Selma Blair admitted that the holiday season has not been easy as she deals with loss and sadness.
“I have had trouble staying awake. And crying. I know the holidays can be hard for some,” Blair stated in her caption.
She continued, “The first with my mother dead. The first in Covid. The first with more hope for our world than I have ever wished for. The healthcare workers and teachers and restaurant owners. All of it. And I thank you humbly. For being here.”
Quipping a little joke at the end, Blair added, “Ps. The pine cones were very tasty.”
Finding moments of joy and release amid the chaos, Selma Blair’s messages of sadness and strength comes on the heels of the “Cruel Intentions” actress losing her top in a quick roadside photoshoot while traveling through Palm Springs.
“Impromptu shoot off the highway. Palm Springs desert. New Wyllis pants. Why ruin a great outfit with a top? I wish I may. I wish I might, I wish upon this star tonight ⭐️ stay safe,” Blair captioned her photo with a well-placed star that saved her pic from earning a NSFW rating.
