In the filing, Schwartz is asking for joint custody of his two daughters, and claims "irreconcilable differences" are the reason for the split. Interestingly, Schwartz is asking a judge to validate a "post-nuptial agreement" signed by the parties back in 2016. It's unclear what prompted the TV producer to sign a legal document of this type after years of marriage, but it most likely outlines the split of their money and property.

According to the documents, Schwartz married Jill Stonerock in 2008. The hook-up was a true Hollywood story after he reportedly overheard 'O.C' star Rachel Bilson trying to hook up her BFF (Jill) with lead actor Ben McKenzie. "I said, 'What about me?' Ben doesn't need help," Schwartz told InStyle. Three years later, Schwartz reportedly proposed to Stonebrook with a plastic ring after someone broke into his car and stole his engagement ring. Of course, Bilson was the maid of honor at their wedding and is the Godmother of their daughters.

Interestingly, the date of separation is listed at "TBD" which is important considering anything after that day could be considered sole and separate property. This is crucial considering it was announced Schwartz was a part of a huge new deal to develop a television version of the 'Sweet Valley High' books. According to reports, Josh and producing partner Stephanie Savage are joining together to head up the project called, 'Sweet Valley.'
