Chelsea Handler seemingly isn’t holding back whatsoever against critics after receiving some serious flack for her decision to travel to Canada amidst the COVID-19 pandemic’s worst days.
Handler decided to take to social media to discuss the actual details of her plan and quarantine decisions, making sure to slam naysayers. The actress spoke on the measures she is taking in order to be safe and keep others safe before and during traveling back home from Canada for what she describes as “work” related circumstances.
Her Precautions
In the Instagram stories post, Handler got very candid about the details of her Canada trip, slamming those who assumed she wasn’t taking all the necessary precautions before and after international travel in today’s day and age.
“Getting a lot of very violent messages, and I would like everyone to know that I am indeed quarantining for the full 14 days and happy to do it,” the 45-year-old star led off explaining her quarantine measures prior to her trip by saying to fans.
Doubling Down
In a more direct and admittedly angered statement, Handler went on to slam those criticizing her decision further, “So don’t think I’m bending rules. I’m not. I’m quarantining and I’m here for work on top of it. So, suck on that, f******.”
The former host of “Chelsea Lately” traveled to Canada for what she has detailed as work requirements, but has also been taking up her favorite pastime, skiing. During the trip, she posted a video of herself in ski gear and detailed the differences this season would have to others in the past.
Talking Skiing
“This ski season is gonna be a little more f***** up than previous ski seasons,” Handler led off by listing the changes COVID-19 caused to ski resorts.
“A) there’s gonna be no après. If you go skiing, do not go and mingle and slam your juice into somebody else’s mouth just because you’re excited that you went down a double black diamond, OK? Get your s–t together people. We’re gonna ski and we’re gonna ski safely with double masks on and no penetration.”
Fan Interaction
The post about skiing drew many fans to criticize Handler initially, pointing out that a December 21 ban enforced strict travel restrictions against U.S. citizens entering Canada.
Many commented under the post questioning how the star was able to engage in leisure activities in the foreign nation despite the new guidelines. However, some came to her defense by pointing out that the inherent purpose of her trip was to complete some work, and skiing a bit on the side isn’t an issue they see as long as it’s done safely.
