In an Instagram post on Thursday, Oprah revealed that she has been eating foods from various cultures around the world in order to celebrate the holiday season.

“Every night during holiday season we eat delicious foods from different countries,” she wrote alongside a video with chef Gregory Gourdettalking about the different foods he was cooking.

Chef Gourdet Is Opening His Own Restaurant… And He’s Hiring!

Gourdet’s first restaurant, Kann Restaurant, is opening in 2022, and he revealed he is looking for a general manager and a pastry chef to bring his vision to life. Although the restaurant industry has been suffering from worker shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic, Gourdet has his fingers crossed that he’ll be able to open his restaurant in early April.

In early December, he posted a photo on Instagram showing off the work that has already been completed on the still-unfinished building.

“Plumbing is in, and the chefs’ counter is framed,” he wrote. “We haven’t decided on the stone for the top yet but are very close.”

“Very grateful to be surrounded by such an exceptional team of craftspeople who take their art and skill so seriously, and enjoy the work it takes to stay on schedule,” he continued.

“Working around the clock, multiple teams, multiple projects within the project,” he added. “Enjoying every second, even the hard ones.”

Hopefully, with Oprah’s support, he’ll finally get to see his vision come to life in 2022!

This Isn’t The First Time That Oprah Has Gone International Over The Holidays!

As The Blast previously reported, Oprah channeled South African vibes for her Thanksgiving “pre-feast” earlier this year.

Oprah credited Chef Raymond Weber for the international dishes, which she featured in a 46-second video highlighting the South African cuisine staples.

In the caption, Oprah wrote, “We had a pre-Thanksgiving feast at our house. South African cuisine to welcome my girls home. And yes there was malva pudding for dessert. All deliciously prepared by Chef @raymond_weber. Thanks for giving my daughter girls a taste of Home.”

She introduced her fans to staples like Chalaka, Peri Peri Chicken, Peri Peri Shrimp, malva pudding, and “Bunny Chow.” The Bunny Chow consisted of roasted chicken in a toasted mini bread bowl. There was also a pot of Samp & Beans, along with yellow rice and lentils seasoned with turmeric.

“This is the best thing I’ve seen all week,” one fan commented. “As a South African…thank you.”

“Oh now that’s a proper South African dish,” said another. “The best thanksgiving ever.”
