“Gold Rush” star Freddy Dodge is taking his professional gold digging experience to help struggling prospectors discover their true potential in a spinoff series on Discovery’s new streaming service. “Gold Rush: Freddy Dodge’s Mine Rescue” is set to air in January on Discovery+ and will showcase the veteran gold miner hitting the road to help mining families around the country find the motherlode after hitting rock bottom. The new spinoff series will be part of Discovery’s big launch for their streaming platform and premiere alongside other shows, like the return of “Monster Garage.”
The Blast has obtained an exclusive sneak peek of “Gold Rush: Freddy Dodge’s Mine Rescue,” which features the “Gold Guru” traveling around to give families a glimmer of hope during drastic times.
“Freddy is a cheat code when it comes to gold mining. The gold fields of America have become packed with regular people — out-of-work families, groups of friends and lone wolfs – all looking to cash in on rising gold prices,” a description from the network reads.

According to the network:
“In each episode, Freddie will share his hard-earned practical knowledge about where to look for gold as well as the inside tips on mining and sluicing it.”
Freddy will also be leaning on expert gold miner Juan Ibarra to help him on his quest.
“At each location, the mining duo will use their knowledge of geology, prospecting, drilling and testing to get back on the paydirt. But it isn’t just running their dirt faster. It’s about making the operations better, and more importantly, running cheaper,” Discovery says.
“Gold Rush: Freddy Dodge’s Mine Rescue” premieres January 4 on Discovery+.
