Jeannie Mai is grabbing life with both hands and recovering after having been forced to drop out of “Dancing With the Stars” last month. The 41-year-old TV personality and YouTuber made major headlines in November as potentially life-threatening condition epiglottis drove her into emergency surgery, with the “How Do I Look?” star since admitting she’s dropped 15 pounds of muscle due to the saga. Jeannie is now working hard on her recovery, with a Saturday night Instagram post showing off her progress, style, and business brains. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photo. It comes as Jeannie reveals she “almost died” during the popular competition series that saw her wind up in the hospital and, after surgery, unable to eat.
Jeannie’s photo last night came promoting her mother’s Mama Mai clothing line, one that retails both kimonos and cute sunglasses. The snap showed Mai seated and backed by pink walls, funky furnishings, and plants, also smiling as she rocked cropped ripped jeans, white sneakers, plus a matching top and embellished pastel kimono.
Jeannie, smiling and showing off her stunning facial features, kept it relaxed, also raising her left leg up against a small circular table, then addressing fans:
“This kimono I design call “Blessing by God”. Even you do something guilty, my kimono remind you are the “Blessing by God.” [email protected],” she told her 2.4 million followers, adding:
“Head to TheMamaMai.com to shop all her little-bits-of-wisdom kimonos..link in bio ?”
The photo comes amid a slew of snaps showing Mai on the mend, but the star has admitted she’s depressed right now.
Mai, who was partnered with Brandon Armstrong on Season 29 of “DWTS,” has opened up on the ordeal that forced her off the show.
“What I was dancing with was a numb neck because I couldn’t feel anything when it was really closing up,” she told fans. “My throat was 60 percent closed. It was numb, but it was closed.
This, prior to the surgery and seeing her write a letter to fiancé Jeezy, was accompanied by Mai saying: “I was literally like gasping for air.”

Jeannie has updated fans right from the gym as she vows to regain the 15 pounds of muscle she worked so hard to build. The California native recently posed doing resistance work while rocking yoga pants and stating that “Day by day, I’ve been working slowly to motivate myself to come back stronger and healthier than ever.”
Mai is following an “aggressive” meal plan of “grains and carbs” to nourish herself and ensure her calories are kept up. Scroll for the “WAP” requests her spandex can spark.
