Christina Aguilera 'Arrives' Finely At 40 Giving Instagram A 'Whiplash'

Singer, actress, and overall diva Christina Aguilera just turned 40, and she did so with so much style, Instagram may never recover from all that sass. 

Of course, it's Christina Aguilera, or should we say Xtina, and sass becomes mandatory, right? Especially when it's your 40th birthday. 

Christina has a wonderful concept about turning 40, and it's way different from the others, and something fans are only too happy to adopt as a mantra from the time when their big 4-0 arrives. Here's how it went down.

Christina turned 40 in a leather outfit that redefined hot, and a braid that yet took Instagram's collective breath away. As did her living room in a later post.

Aguilera said cheers to 40 in her caption, and fans were only too happy to take this opportunity to wish their favorite diva. 

Wrote one Instagram follower, "Welcome to 40 baby?❤️ You do it so well".

Others felt Christina's arrival at 40 was smooth, writing, "So beautiful you and your words ?? Happy Birthday my love!! I love you so much !!! This is your year!!!!!"

Christina found a better way to turn 40, by "arriving at 40". In an open letter on Instagram, Aguilera said, "This ever-present social stigma exists around getting older, but I have ALWAYS embraced it!  I am forever an old soul and I appreciate the wisdom, grace, and beauty that comes with each new year of life. I treasure the growth that comes with age and I welcome the knowledge from the greats that came before me."

She also carried on saying that the year has been a "whirlwind" one and that everyone needed to be brave and carry on.
