AEW Stars Cody And Brandi Rhodes Expecting First Child

The video of Cody and Brandi's announcement shows the couple at home decorating their Christmas tree when they're interrupted by the doorbell. Cody opens the door to find a gift-wrapped box on the porch.

He and Brandi then open the gift, which is a pair of baby Gucci shoes and an ornament engraved with "we're expecting a new baby due 2021."

The couple then shared kiss as the camera panned to their dog Pharaoh, who is wearing a bandana implying he's part of the Baby Security team.

Cody and Brandi's relationship began when they were both working for WWE. 

As the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes and the younger brother of Dustin Rhodes, Cody was following in his family's footsteps. 

Brandi meanwhile was working as a ring announcer under the name of Eden Stiles.

The couple married in September 2013, and three years later they left WWE.

Brandi began serving as her husband's valet during his stints in Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor. On a couple of occasions she even wrestled alongside Cody in mixed tag matches.

In January 2019, the couple along with their friends The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and entrepreneur Tony Khan announced the launch of All Elite Wrestling, which has become the hottest wrestling promotion in the world.

The couple is a huge part of AEW television. 

Cody is one of AEW's top babyfaces and a two-time TNT Champion. Currently, he's in a storyline with the iconic wrestler Sting, who is assisting Cody in his feud with Brian Cage and Ricky Starks.

As for Brandi, she was in the midst of a feud with AEW's newest signee Jade Cargill. In a backstage segment, Cargill attacked Brandi by stomping on her arm with a steel chair.

It looked like AEW was setting up a potential match between the two women, but with Brandi pregnant, she's out and Red Velvet may take her place.

No details have been revealed about Brandi's pregnancy, but the couple told "People" Magazine, they are excited about this incredible chapter in their lives.

Brandi and Cody's child will have plenty of play dates with other wrestling children.

This year saw plenty of wrestlers having babies. Brie and Nikki Bella both gave birth to sons, and WWE star Roman Reigns had twins this year.

Recently, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch welcomed their daughter Roux. Also, Cody and Brandi's friends Jon Moxley and Renee Young are expecting a daughter in June.

With so many stars in WWE and AEW having children, there's going to be lots of second generation wrestlers in the future.
