The Canadian stunner's confession came while he discussed his new song, "It'll Be Okay," in a nearly two-minute video for his millions of followers. The singer said:

"I'm having a little bit of a hard time with social media at the moment, just kind of my relationship with it, but I have lots of people sending me videos and telling me what's going on."

The songwriter used music as a platform to gain new insight about his soul — a part of himself that couldn't be discovered by "talking to people or thinking about it."

Regarding his new song, the 13-time SOCAN Award-winner mentioned the emotional responses he had been getting from fans on Tiktok and hoped this reaction was because they could feel the "truth" and "honesty" in the lyrics.

The "Stitches" singer stated that he was proud of the song and grateful to everyone who connected with it. Mendes ended the video with touching words:

"I see you guys, and I see how much love you're giving the song, and giving me, and that means the world to me, so thank you."

The 23-year-old confessed that he was deeply attached to his social media platforms and required frequent breaks for the apps or risk undermining his day-to-day activities.

The "Mercy" singer cleansed himself from social media by deleting the apps, and this detox seemed to give the artist a newfound zeal to make chart-topping songs.

The Canadian Apollo wasn't the only person who needed frequent social media breaks, as his ex-girlfriend once revealed that she needed time away from her devices to focus better on her music.

In November, The Blast shared the heartbreaking news of the "Senorita" singers' separation, announced via an Instagram joint statement.

In the post, the former lovebirds admitted that their relationship of over two years had ended, but the pair planned to keep their status as "best friends" alive.

Although they didn't reveal the reason for their separation, sources claimed the ex-couple decided to split due to the "stale and complacent" nature of their relationship.
