The CDC is warning the public to avoid cruise trips under new guidelines.

On Thursday, the CDC provided a statement provided by spokesperson Dave Daigle.

The CDC increased the Cruise Travel Health Notice to level 4.

Level 4 means that people should avoid cruise travel regardless of vaccination status.

During Nov. 30 – Dec. 14, 162 cases came from cruise ships.

During Dec. 15 – Dec. 29, over 5,000 cases came from cruise ships.

The Cruise Lines International Association said it was “disappointed” by the CDC’s recommendation.

They maintain that they have protocols in place, including vaccination checks and regular testing.

They also added that “no setting can be immune from this virus.”
