Taylor Swift Shares RARE Details About Relationship With Joe Alwyn

"Joe and I really love sad songs. We've always bonded over music," she led off by sharing the dominant type of music that the pair both enjoy. 

The singer added that their musical unity was a "surprise" initially but now her and Alwyn both bask in the fact that they can contribute to each other in that facet of life too.

"We write the saddest [songs]. We just really love sad songs," she went on to tell Lowe.

"What can I say?..It was a surprise that we started writing together. But in a way, it wasn't because we have always bonded over music and had the same musical tastes," the award-winning singer added about their process.

On how she expands their musical palate further, Swift also credited Alwyn, "He's always the person who's showing me songs by artists, and then they become my favorite songs." 

Clearly, the chemistry that exists between them is translating into some quality content for the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer.

On her boyfriend's musical abilities, Swift had plenty to gloat about as well.

"He's always just playing instruments, and he doesn't do it in a strategic, 'I'm writing a song right now' thing. He's always done that," she said, particularly referencing their song "Exile." 

"But do I think we would have taken the step of, 'Hey, let's see if there's a song in here. Let's write a song together?' If we hadn't been in lockdown, I don't think that would have happened, but I'm so glad that it did. We're so proud of that one."

Looking forward beyond the forthcoming album, Swift admitted to Lowe that she has truly no idea what life has in store for her, but added that she is an adamant list-maker and will surely come up with something.

"I think my new list will be places I want to see in the world, adventures I want to have, experiences I want to have. Things I want to learn," she said of post-quarantine plans. 

"I think that'll be what the list looks like, because there's always going to be a list. It's me, but it will be lists of... In quarantine, my lists was... I decided to start trying to cook everything that I had always loved to eat, but never been able to cook. So there's always a list."
