Britney Spears Hasn't Spoken To Her Father In Over THREE Months!

At this point, Jamie is defending his actions of 'protecting' his daughter from those he claims have 'self-serving' interests. He believes the radio-silence from his daughter is by legal design.

"I love my daughter and I miss her very much," Jamie Spears told CNN.

He continued, "When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally. I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family."

"Jamie's relationship with Britney is not that different than your average father-daughter relationship insofar as there has always been a mutual love and respect for each other. Until Britney's court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham abruptly instructed Jamie not to contact Britney a few months ago, Jamie and Britney had spoken often and regularly throughout the entire conservatorship," Jamie's lawyer told the outlet.

Adding, "In fact, they had spoken just the day before and had had a pleasant and collaborative conversation."

But, at this point, believes Britney's legal team is trying to prevent him from having any relationship with his daughter. As we reported, Britney's team shocked the world by filing documents in the conservatorship case claiming she is afraid of her father. In the documents, they accused him of making business decisions without her knowledge including hiring a new manager.

In November, Britney's lawyer filed docs saying she would no longer perform as long as her father remained in control of her $60 Million estate.

We broke the story, Britney's mother and sister have stepped up to help the pop star during this ongoing situation, including filing legal documents to become the trustee of her family trust. Lynne Spears agreed with the pop star's decision to oust her father, saying through her attorney "It has broken Lynne's heart that things have come to this point," adding, "time to start fresh."

At this point, she believes the relationship between her daughter and ex-husband has become, "toxic." Jamie's lawyer responded to the accusations, telling CNN, "Jamie strongly disagrees with Lynne's false statements and highly misleading statements and characterizations."

The case continues in the Los Angeles County Courts, and Britney remains under a conservatorship, as she has been for the past 12 years.
