The Author & Creator of Westeros Is Hyping Up The New Series
George R.R. Martin was very honest when talking about the new series House of Dragon. Admitting that he had a bit of a biased opinion. Even if he’s not heavily involved in the creative process of this new series, it is his creations that are being taken as inspiration for this new show. Of course, that means he’s in line to make a lot of cash if the show hits big. The Game of Thrones creator mentioned though, that he’d seen a preview of the first episode, and he was impressed.
“I am anticipating HOUSE OF THE DRAGON pretty eagerly myself, for what it’s worth. Okay, I am hardly objective. And I know a lot of what you will be seeing. (I, um, wrote the book). Also … mum’s the word now, don’t tell anyone… I’ve seen a rough cut of the first episode. And loved it. It’s dark, it’s powerful, it’s visceral… just the way I like my epic fantasy.”
What To Expect From The Game of Thrones Prequel

He even mentioned this in his post, telling fans, “anticipate away”. How long are fans going to have to wait though? The show is going to be released in 2022. However, there hasn’t been an official release date set!
