Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid passed away at the age of 82.

The Nevada Senator lost his four-year struggle with pancreatic cancer.

His wife, Landra Reid, said he passed away on Tuesday surrounded by family members.

The couple, who were high school sweethearts, had 5 children and 19 grandchildren.

President Joe Biden tweeted out his condolences for the late Senator.

“Harry never forgot his humble roots,” Biden wrote.

“May God bless Harry Reid, a dear friend and a giant of our history,” he concluded.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called him “one of the most amazing individuals I ever met.

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison wrote out a long tribute, saying he would miss his fight, spirit, loyalty, and determination.
