Kristin Livdahl, alleged that Amazon Alexa asked her 10-year-old daughter to do the "Penny Challenge" which could prove to be very dangerous.

Her daughter was doing some physical challenges online with her teacher and wanted some more, so she asked Alexa for a challenge on her Echo device.

Alexa reportedly asked her to, "plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs".

Alexa gave the girl 20 seconds to do the same, at which point mom came yelling “No” to Alexa.

Kristin Livdahl also said that even if she had not intervened, her daughter knew better and would not have done it.

Livdahl tweeted the incident, adding a picture of Alexa’s communication log for veracity.

Amazon has apologized to Livdahl and also stated that Alexa had been “fixed”.

This is not the first time Amazon Alexa had been dragged into controversy because of faulty algorithms.

Meanwhile Twitter had gone to war, with some asking why Amazon Alexa is needed, and others voting for it.
