Keanu Reeves wants to work with Carrie-Anne Moss on "John Wick."
The co-stars have been working since the first "Matrix" movie, and they have maintained a close friendship ever since. The duo supported each other's projects through the years. In a recent interview, Reeves and Moss shared that they both want to work together on other films.
On Working Together
"I love John Wick," Moss told People.
She continued, "I really started to understand Keanu's outrageous gift for telling story through his body. And I didn't fully understand that until I went deep into John Wick with one of my children."
The 54-year-old actress added, "It was very bonding for us too. It was amazing to have that experience with my son and to watch the depth that Keanu is able to [create] with his body. It's really an art form."
Supporting Each Other
Reeves thanked Moss for her kind words and admitted his affection for her iconic "Matrix" character.
"I'm going to stay with Trinity, I think. But in all your performances, your eyes, I always see what's behind the eyes, what communicates. And there's always such a present-ness and even in vulnerability, a strength," the 57-year-old actor said.
A Great Role
Reeves has worked with another "Matrix" co-star on "John Wick -- Laurence Fishburne. As to whether Moss can join the cast, Reeves said, "That would be awesome," before asking Moss, "You want to play an assassin?"
"I'd love it," the "Disturbia" star answered.
"Really?" Reeves asked in return.
"Yeah!" Moss exclaimed.
"Okay. Let's get on that," Reeves stated, to which Moss agreed and said, "I'll start practicing."
Reeves then warned her by saying, "Be careful for what you wish for. I'm on it now."
Feeling Thankful
As for their current onscreen pairing in "The Matrix Resurrections," the actors felt grateful for doing the fourth film in the franchise, directed by Lana Wachowski.
"This one felt more emotional, just feeling like we're not going to do it again, so I was trying to soak it all in," Reeves admitted.
"Yeah. Enjoy every moment of it," Moss added. "The experience lives in you forever."
Only With Wachowski
In a past interview, Reeves shared how he got a text from Wachowski about the fourth "Matrix" installment.
"I had heard over the years that Warner Bros, who financed and distributed The Matrix trilogy, was considering making another Matrix film, and then I would always go, 'Well are the Wachowskis involved?' And then it would be, 'No,' and I would say, 'Well, that's never going to happen,'" he said.
Reeves continued, "But then it started to get closer and closer, and I was like, 'Hmm... still not gonna happen.' And then a year, a couple, went by. I got a text, a call from Lana Wachowski, and she was saying that she was considering doing another Matrix film. And I was like, 'Whaaaat?' And then she said, 'Yes.' But there were a lot of things she wanted to consider first, you know – just the writing, the situation. She kind of went step by step. But I was really happy that she invited me and I was looking forward to it happening."
"The Matrix Resurrections" is now playing in theaters, while "John Wick: Chapter 4" will hit cinemas in March 2023.
