Valentina Orellana-Peralta, 14, was killed in an officer-involved-shooting in North Hollywood.

Police fired shots at assault suspect, Daniel Elena Lopez, who was also killed.

One of the shots pierced the drywall and struck Valentina, who was in a dressing room.

Her parents gave their first public statement on Tuesday about the shooting.

She revealed that they heard screams, so they sat down and started praying.

She said that “something” impacted her daughter and they fell to the floor.

“She died in my arms and there was nothing I could do,” she said.

Family attorney Ben Crump is calling for the LAPD to preserve evidence and asking for transparency.

Crump has previously represented the families of Trayvon Martin, Breonna Taylor, and others.
