Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney has returned to Instagram with a vengeance, after taking a long hiatus, and has been updating fans on the regular with fresh new photos. The 24-year-old star's latest photo dump comes courtesy of Thanksgiving, as she has a lot to be thankful for after a particularly trying time in the young Olympian's life. It's also been a year of changes for Maroney, as she embarks on a new professional career while managing the big changes in her personal and family life.

McKayla Maroney was nothing short of fierce when she shared her Thanksgiving look with her over 1 million fans on Instagram.

"Happy Thanksgiving! 🥰🍁🍽🦃 Love you," the gold medal gymnastics star wrote while sharing her animal-print outfit and a beautifully glammed face.

"Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!" one of the messages back to the star read as thousands showered Maroney with love on the national day of thanks.

Others on social media couldn't get over Maroney's beauty, hailing her as "gorgeous" and "amazing."

This year was the first Thanksgiving for Maroney after moving back home following the tragic death of her father, who died last year after dealing with opioid abuse.

"Hi guys. If you start noticing the new background it’s because I moved into a new place," Maroney wrote in a message on social media.

She added, "After my dad passed away, I wanted to be home for a bit for my little sister, mom, and brother."

Maroney didn't get specific on her new digs, but her family hails from Orange County, CA.

Dealing With Tragedy

McKayla Maroney revealed her father's death on social media back in 2019 with an emotional message.

"Love u dad. I can’t believe it’s real. I don’t want to. I’ll miss you forever. Rest in peace. You were the most incredible dad,” she wrote on social media in an emotional tribute.

The loss came on the heels of Maroney going through a very public emotional ordeal when she, along with many former gymnastics teammates like Aly Raisman, revealed they were sexually abused by former Team USA doctor Larry Nassar.
