Axing The Cactus Jack collaboration

Dior released a statement to Women's Wear Daily:

"Out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld, Dior has decided to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration originally intended to be included in its summer 2022 collection."

However, according to an insider, it was a "mutual decision made by both Dior and Travis Scott to postpone the upcoming collection due in Jan '22 with both parties working to reschedule the launch at a later date."

The 30-year-old record producer teamed up with Dior's creative director Kim Jones on the men's Spring/Summer 2022 collection -- Cactus Jack Dior -- named after Scott's record label, Cactus Jack Records. The collaboration was set to debut next month, but now that it's postponed indefinitely, it is unclear whether Dior will release the collection at all.

Losing More Collabs

Dior's not the only brand that parted ways with Scott. In November, Nike also postponed the release of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack shoe "out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival."

Anheuser-Busch also cut ties with the soon-to-be father of two following the tragic events at his Astroworld Festival concert that left 10 people dead and many injured. The brewing company shared that they are discontinuing Scott's CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer.

“After careful evaluation, we have decided to stop all production and brand development of CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer,” an Anheuser-Busch InBev spokesperson said in a statement, per AdAge. “We believe brand fans will understand and respect this decision.”

The "goosebumps" rapper was also pulled out from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2022 lineup. According to a report by Variety, event organizers were willing to pay Scott a fee for the cancellation. In a report by The Blast, a petition was set up to pressure the company Goldenvoice to remove the rapper from any of its music festivals. The petition has already raised over 60,000 signatures.

About 50,000 concertgoers were present during his November 5 concert. Plenty of them attempted to rush the stage when Scott started the event, causing numerous people to lose consciousness after falling to the ground. Ten people died, and hundreds of attendees were injured from the stampede.
