Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin is literally busting out push-ups in skimpy spandex and in the snow. The five-time Olympic medalist, 31, dropped her latest moves from a freezing and snowed-out deck in Montana, but the steely-strong display was way more than a showoff. Nastia, followed by 1 million on Instagram, was delivering a sobering message about mental health amid the global pandemic, with her post alerting fans to the alarmingly-high suicide rates accompanying COVID. Cold hands, warm heart. Check it out below.
Scroll for the push-up action. Nastia, who is spending Thanksgiving out in Big Sky Country and with her dog Harley, appeared solo in the video. The 2008 all-around Olympic champion, 100% proving she hasn’t dropped the ball since retiring aged just 22 in 2012, was square, strong, steely, and killing it.
The video showed Nastia removing her jacket to bust out perfect push-ups in leggings and a sports bra, with the blonde not missing a single rep on the perfection front.
Nastia, balancing out the fun with a real message, reminded viewers:
“2020 has been an incredibly hard year for all of us…According to the World Health Organization, approximately 800,000 people die due to suicide every year.”
” This means: ONE PERSON DIES EVERY 40 SECONDS FROM SUICIDE. With more lockdowns likely in the US, this rate is increasing. As we move into the holiday season, I want to share how exercise has helped me personally deal with mental health issues by competing with fellow athletes in a charity fitness challenge,” she added.
Nastia isn’t addressing mental health awareness solo. She’ll be joined by 32-year-old gymnastics face Alicia Sacramone Quinn for a friendly fight-off, with today’s video mentioning the two-some.
“That’s why (Alicia Sacramone Quinn) and I are competing in The Big Fight Against Suicide on December 12, and why I’m calling on my fellow fitness influencers to help raise awareness by simply completing 40 seconds of pushups & calling out 4 friends to #PushUpAgainstSuicide,” Nastia added.

Nastia, who was born in Russia and raised by Olympic gymnast parents prior to her childhood move to the U.S., is based in Dallas, TX, but it looks like her heart is in two places. Fall saw Nastia take a stunning trip out to her cabin in Montana, with the star recently stunning fans in the snow and with her four-legged friend.
Nastia might spend time building up a carbon footprint with air travel, but the beauty blogger is big-time into preserving the planet, having even gone shirtless and by a dumpster to keep us green. Scroll for that photo…
