The five-time gold-medal-winning gymnast took to Instagram to share an eye-popping video of herself doing pushups in skintight spandex, but the 40-second workout had a very important message.
In the clip, Nastia strips down to just a crop top and spandex to bust out the pushups, and you can tell she is freezing out on the ice-covered deck.
You Gotta See This!
“2020 has been an incredibly hard year for all of us…According to the World Health Organization, approximately 800,000 people die due to suicide every year. This means: ONE PERSON DIES EVERY 40 SECONDS FROM SUICIDE. With more lockdowns likely in the US, this rate is increasing. As we move into the holiday season, I want to share how exercise has helped me personally deal with mental health issues by competing with fellow athletes in a charity fitness challenge,” Nastia captioned the push-up video.

“That’s why (Alicia Sacramone Quinn) and I are competing in The Big Fight Against Suicide on December 12, and why I’m calling on my fellow fitness influencers to help raise awareness by simply completing 40 seconds of pushups & calling out 4 friends to #PushUpAgainstSuicide,” she continued.
Adding, “It doesn’t matter how many you do, or how you do them, just spend 40 seconds.”
As we reported, Nastia is spending the holidays at a beautiful cabin in Montana and has been flooding her IG with hot shots from the snowy location. As for who is joining her on the trip, as you know, she is being very tight-lipped about her personal life — telling fans she is going to keep it “private.”
See The Details…
Nastia has recently been linked to NFL star Sam Martin, but his team has a big game this morning!
The gymnast broke her silence about the breakup with her ex-fiance, saying, “When it all first happened it was scary because when I met Matt, I thought that he was gonna be the person I was gonna spend the rest of my life with, but I’ve been so lucky to have some amazing people in my life that I can lean on for support and love.”
She continued, “I felt like a failure not having this relationship work. That’s because as an athlete if things don’t go your way if you don’t come out on top, you feel like you’ve somewhat failed. This has always been a big learning lesson for me.”
Now, time for 40 seconds of push-ups!
