Earlier today, the curvy model posted a private shot of Wayne rolling a joint in their mansion. Denise captioned the post, “Mornings with bae” with the heart emoji. Hours later, she posted a stunning selfie while riding around in the car. Neither looks too concerned about Wayne being charged with a felon.
Wayne’s girlfriend seems to be providing him with some moral and emotional support at the moment. The two were rumored to have split after he endorsed Donald Trump but she shut down those rumors on social media.
As The Blast previously reported, earlier this month, Lil Wayne was hit with a felony case by The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
Prosecutors hit the rapper with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted.
The case stems from a December 2019 incident where the private jet Wayne was traveling on was stopped at a Miami airport. A bunch of drugs and a firearm were found on the plane.
Wayne was not arrested at the time and was allowed to leave the scene. At the time, his lawyer said the rapper was in the clear and not in any sort of trouble. It appears the police thought otherwise and decided to bring charges after investigating the gun found on the jet.
Wayne’s lawyer has fired back at the case saying he will fight it. He believes the case will eventually be dropped by the Florida prosecutors. He has yet to enter a plea.
Following the rapper being charged with a felony, his ex-girlfriend Melissa Howe spoke to The Sun. During her chat, the British PlayboyPlus model, who dated the rapper from 2017-2019, claims Wayne was affected by the murders of Nipsey Hustle and XXXTentacion.
The model said Wayne was rarely without armed protection and would often cancel events if they had a security gun check. She said, “I met him at a party in Miami just before New Year’s Eve in 2017 and we dated until the end of last year.”
She continued, “When I was dating him, he’d always carry a gun on him, he’d have it next to his bed or on the cabinet and would bring it with him in his car wherever he went.”
“I remember thinking ‘What the hell?’ but he was worried he would get shot because people around him had been getting attacked and killed like Nipsey Hustle and XXXTentacion,” she said.
“And he thought he would be targeted like them. There were even events he would pull out of if they did a security check on him because he was carrying a gun – he would pass on high paid events just because of the gun checks,” she claimed.
