Ana Navarro’s Dad Contracted COVID-19

Navarro could not attend the burial ceremony despite her desire to do so. "The View" co-host had to stay back in Miami due to the political climate of Nicaragua, which is unsafe for critics of the government.

Since she could not make the journey, the 49-year-old made plans with her father to visit her in Miami and to spend the holidays at her place. However, Navarro and her dad might have to stay for more months apart because he tested positive for COVID-19.

Furthermore, Navarro highlighted that her mother's death immensely affected her father, and all she wanted was to comfort him in his trying time.

"I desperately wanted to hug him and pamper him. I am down to one parent, and all I want is to smother him with love and attention,' she said. Now, he has COVID! Obviously, he cannot fly until he tests negative. I am so grateful he is vaxxed."

Navarro also revealed that her father was not down with severe symptoms like shortness of breath, nausea, diarrhea, and persistent pain or pressure in the chest.

His case was very mild as she explained he only felt like he was having a cold and was already on his way to recovery. However, his illness and the increasing number of infected people made her cancel the party she had planned to celebrate this festive season.

"Three of the people coming for Christmas dinner at my house have Covid. It's all around me. I'm pulling the plug on my Noche Buena," she wrote.

"Just too much sadness, sickness, and risk. Between family members, friends, and colleagues, I know 12 people with Covid right now and more people who are quarantining because they were exposed."
