Britney Spears may have more than just extra helpings of turkey and stuffing to look forward to over the Thanksgiving break because she is excited about spending some long-awaited time with family. The Princess of Pop took to Instagram on Monday afternoon, as most Americans are looking forward to enjoying some Thanksgiving festivities, even if most family celebrations look a bit different this year during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Britney is already getting in on the spirit of listing what she’s thankful for, and it’s a lot!
Sending out some Thanksgiving cheer to her 26.9 million followers on Instagram, Britney posted a black and white vintage photo of a young girl riding a turkey-drawn carriage.
“Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays!” Britney began her message.
She explained, “I love the fall …. I like hot chocolate and I really like my fire ? place at home …. it’s so nice!”
Britney’s message to fans comes days after she returned home from a quickie vacation to Hawaii with boyfriend Sam Asghari.
Along with the treats that Thanksgiving is bringing this year, the pop star pointed out what she is really thankful for:
“I also adore my kids having THANKSGIVING BREAK!”
Sean Preston and Jayden James, the teenage boys Britney Spears shares with ex-hubby Kevin Federline, have been living with their father since last year when an incident with Britney’s father sparked an investigation with authorities.
As we previously reported, Jamie Spears, was accused of battery last year after Kevin Federline filed a police report following an alleged physical altercation with one of their children. Officials later declined to file charges due to lack of evidence and the patriarch of the Spears family was cleared of wrongdoing.
Although Britney’s dad was off the hook, the drama was far from over after the singer tried to remove him as her longtime conservator. The huge legal move, which was backed by Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, was eventually shut down in court and Jamie Spears remains at the helm of the controversial conservatorship. Britney seems to reference the drama going on in her own life while still relating to the “mess” of the rest of the world and trying to take it all on in a positive light.
“2020 has been one big mess for everyone in the world …. it’s honestly an accomplishment to remember what day it is sometimes,” Britney wrote.
She added, “[Constantly] looking at my silly calendar ??♀️?♀️?♀️??? !!!!!!! It’s okay not to be perfect …. to burn the pizza ? in the oven ….. to cry over a book for an hour after reading ? …. to look for your shades and they’ve been on your head the entire time …. to have a messy closet …. to forget where you left your cleaning supplies ….. to have a cheat month with food …. come on folks …. it’s the holidays ???? !!!!!!!! None of us are perfect ….. and a little secret for ya ….. don’t tell anybody but I forgot it was Thanksgiving this week ??? !!!!!!”
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!
