Our beloved “Jeopardy!” host of over 35 years, Alex Trebek, died at home after battling pancreatic cancer, and according to his death certificate the star was cremated, and his wife is keeping his ashes inside their home.
According to the death certificate, obtained by The Blast, the legendary star’s occupation is listed as “Quiz Show Host” and says he was in the Entertainment for 60 years. The document also reveals his wife, Jean Trebek, had him cremated and listed his final resting place as their Studio City home.

The death certificate confirms the beloved ‘Jeopardy!’ host battled the deadly disease for “22 months” and died peacefully at home on November 8, 2020. He was survived by his wife and their two children, Matthew and Emily.
Interestingly, the ‘Jeopardy!’ host is listed as “Alexander Trebek” but it includes his real name which is “George Alexander Trebek.” That is definitely going to be a question on the show at some time in the future!
Alex Trebek’s wife Jean recently shared a tribute to Alex for “World Pancreatic Cancer Day” which was shared on the official “Jeopardy!” Twitter page:
“It’s about time we stop taking for granted the preciousness of each day and start living in the full experience of kindness and coherency”. The “Jeopardy!” post read “Today is #WorldPancreaticCancerDay. Wear purple in honor of Alex, and help raise awareness for the risks and symptoms of pancreatic cancer”.

In the days following Alex’s death, Executive Producer of “Jeopardy!”, Mike Richards, spoke about Trebek’s “peaceful” final day.
“He had a nice final day. He was out on his swing that he loved with his wife and surrounded by family. It was a very peaceful day, there were laughs, and then he went to sleep. If you know Alex, he did everything that perfectly and even his last day was done that perfectly. I just love that he had a nice, a good last day. Ultimately, his family came back into town. He was surrounded by everyone and I think he knew that it was his time. He was very at peace with that,” he told ET.

As you can imagine, in the days following Alex’s death celebrities politicians, and fans flooded social media paying tribute to the legendary host.
Famed “Jeopardy!” contestant Ken Jennings, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and “Wheel of Fortune” stars Pat Sajak and Vanna White were among those who remembered the famous game show host.
At this point, a replacement for the popular TV Show has not been announced but it will be a tough act to follow. The final episode of “Jeopardy!” featuring Trebek is scheduled to air on Christmas Day.
Alex Trebek is a legend and his legacy will live on for generations.
